Working together
Terms And Conditions
We want to make working together a seamless process, so we’ve laid out our terms and conditions as simply as possible below. All new clients agree to these terms when engaging with our 1-1 coaching programs, workshops, and our team of coaches at Your Career Strategy.
Payment
How to pay, the 10% upfront discount, payment plans, and when payment is due.
For individuals, we take card payments through our payment processor, Stripe, which adds a 2.9% admin fee. We also take bank transfers through Zelle or Venmo, which avoids that fee. Tell the team at YCS which you prefer and we will accommodate it.
For 1-1 coaching programs, we offer a 10% discount when you pay in full upfront.
We want your coaching program to be as accessible as possible, so if you need a payment plan we can spread the cost over 3-4 months. A payment plan does not carry the 10% upfront discount.
Additionally, 10% of all coaching program fees, 1-1 or workshops alike, are donated to an effective charity selected by you from givewell.org's list of their top effective charities.
Payment is due 3 business days before your workshop series or your 1-1 coaching begins.
Attendance, Cancellations, and Refunds
Workshop seats are not refundable. 1-1 sessions can move with 24 hours' notice.
Workshops
Attendance is required at every scheduled workshop. Each session is built on group activities that need you working both with the whole cohort and within your designated small group.
If an extenuating circumstance keeps you from a session, email your facilitators at least 24 hours beforehand with your reason, and let your small group know you will not be there. Your facilitators aim to record every session and send the recording with the workshop recap, but a recording is not guaranteed.
You agreed to the workshop dates and to the attendance expectations before purchasing the package, so we do not offer refunds on purchased workshops. Seats in each series are limited, and once you accept a seat you take full responsibility for showing up and committing to your investment.
Think of this investment the way you would a degree program at a university. When you miss a class, it is on you to ask the professor what you missed and to reach out to classmates for the rest. And as with a degree program, if you need to withdraw for extenuating circumstances you will be offered a seat in the next available session rather than a refund.
1-1 Coaching Sessions
You may cancel or move a coaching session up to 24 hours before its start time.
Canceling or postponing inside that 24-hour window costs you the session, and its cost.
If you are not satisfied after your first session, tell the Head Coach at YCS, Eli Bohemond (epbohemond at gmail dot com). If you would rather be re-matched with a different coach, we can arrange that.
If you speak with our team and still feel coaching is not for you, we can refund the sessions you have not used. A $100 cancellation fee applies.
You are charged for the sessions you used in the first 30 days and for any you canceled inside the 24-hour window. The remainder is refunded.
Preparation and Expectations
The work between sessions, and how long to set aside for it.
Workshops
Have all of the pre-work done before the first workshop in the series, and every take-home and group assignment done before the next workshop or peer group meeting.
Budget two to three hours each week for the exercises, and come ready to share what you found with your peer group.
1-1 Coaching Sessions
You and your coach set actions at the end of each session, and those actions should be done and ready to discuss before the next one. Your coach does not send session notes, so keep your own record of your actions and goals to track your progress and get the full value of the program.
Growth Mindset Policy
The code of conduct every participant agrees to.
Your Career Strategy commits to doing our best to only admit program participants who operate with positive intent, who demonstrate a growth mindset, and who genuinely care about the success of others as well as their own outcomes. The Growth Mindset Policy is our code of conduct. Participants are expected to behave in a collaborative, supportive, and respectful manner toward all stakeholders. Your Career Strategy reserves the right to dismiss any participants who fail to adhere to this policy.
Adding More 1-1 Coaching Sessions
Who to contact when your program ends and you want to keep going.
If you want more coaching sessions after your initial program package finishes, contact YCS's Head Coach, Eli Bohemond (epbohemond at gmail dot com), and we will set up time to talk through the options for ongoing support.
Guarantee
We do not guarantee a job. We do guarantee the work we put in.
Our clients’ successes are directly dependent upon the effort, commitment and diligence they put into their job search strategies. Outcomes and successes are affected by many external variables including market volatility, local, national, and global economies, market saturation for a particular industry, and a client’s level of experience, adaptability to workforce changes, skill sets, or continued motivation. We do not guarantee job placement, nor employment success.
By participating in our coaching programs and skill building workshops, you agree to hold us harmless for any job search outcomes.
We strongly encourage active client participation in this process to achieve the best outcome possible for all concerned.
We do offer a 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed Policy. We will work tirelessly in pursuit of the complete satisfaction with the services we deliver.
Punctuality
Being on time, and what happens if you are more than 10 minutes late.
It is your responsibility to be on time for every workshop and every coaching session.
Tell your coach if you are going to be late for a 1-1 session. If you are more than 10 minutes late without telling them, that session counts as completed and comes out of the sessions left in your package.
Session Expiration
Six months for a coaching program, 90 days for a workshop add-on, and how to ask for a pause.
For the best results, meet your coach weekly or every other week. Momentum is what makes coaching work, which is why frequent sessions matter.
Our 1-1 coaching programs run for 6 months from the date of your first coaching session. If extended travel, a life event (becoming a parent, caring for a family member, a debilitating illness, and the like), or another situation means you need to pause your program, raise it with your coach directly and they will seek approval for a pause and an extension of the agreed time frame.
Workshop programs are sometimes paired with a 1-1 coaching package, which expires 90 days after your first session. The reasons for requesting a pause and an extension of that window are the same as above.
Client Confidentiality
What gets recorded, who can see it, and what you agree not to share.
Everything you share with Your Career Strategy is treated confidentially, from your very first inquiry through to your post-workshop and coaching feedback.
That holds whether you are dealing with our sales and support team or with our coaches and facilitators. Your privacy is protected.
Our coaching team keeps an internal tracker of each session and each client's progress. It may be shared with the senior coaching team for supervision, feedback, and quality control.
Discovery calls may be recorded for training and quality purposes.
Workshop and 1-1 coaching video recordings can also be used for internal coach training. Workshop content is shared only with the participants in your cohort.
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree not to share these recordings or the workshop materials publicly.
Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we never collect, and how to have it deleted.
Your data is kept confidential at all times and matters enormously to the team at Your Career Strategy. Our business is built on protecting client confidentiality and handling sensitive personal information.
We do not sell your personal information, and we share it only with the service providers we need to run the practice. The Student Readiness Check on the Fellowship pages collects nothing: it scores your answers in your browser and sends them nowhere, and we never see them. If you complete the Fellowship interest form, that form is hosted by our customer relationship management provider and the details you enter go directly to them so a coach can follow up. This site uses a third-party analytics provider that records page views and non-identifying interaction events; analytics never receives your name, your email address, a student's name, or your answers. We may send occasional marketing emails to update you of relevant services you have shown interest in. You reserve the right to unsubscribe at any time from any email sent. To ask what we hold about you or your student, or to have it deleted, email coaching@your-career-strategy.com.
Third-Party and Internal Data Privacy Policy
The four tools that hold your data: our CRM, Zoom, Gmail, and Stripe.
We record initial communications with Your Career Strategy through our CRM system, and parts of our workshops and coaching sessions through Zoom, to be shared internally with the coaching team and with your fellow workshop participants. We record minimal data on 1-1 sessions and workshops, viewable only by your coaches through a password-protected internal coaching tracker. We use Gmail for email and Stripe as our secure payment system.
